This is Crystal, a sleek and glamorous rescue dog living in the South End. Due to her high motivation for stinky treats, she gave me one of those short 30 minute sessions, which truth be told is still freaking me out. We stayed indoors and started in the late afternoon, just as the setting sun was coming through the living room window. We also shot in the bedroom where the light streamed in a bounced off a wall of mirrors directly across. Awesome! I was having a field day shooting in this room, trying to make use of this dramatic lighting. A lot of these photos would have looked great in black and white. I had a hard time not converting ALL of them to black and white.
Crystal has a very glam and sophisticated Gretta Garbo look going on, even as she chews on cowhide.
Thank you for being such a pretty and cooperative model!
Amazing light – and yes – I can see why you would convert them all – beautiful compositions – hard to pick a fav… but I like the b/w of her sitting with rapt attention to her owner – profile shot – very well done – TGIF!
Oh man Li, wow! I **love** that first image, and I can see what fun you had with the light! I totally understand your nervousness about 30 minute sessions, but you SO pull it off, your images are consistently great, and in time you won’t freak out(at least not as much!) Beautiful pooch, and beautiful images!
I LOVE the 1st black and white image! So hip, so modern, so perfect! :) And the one of her in the blanket is so cute! Great session!
I simply can’t choose a favorite! They’re ALL fabulous, Li. Your work is consistently awesome. :)
Crystal is gorgeous, and your images are stunning!! Love the natural yet dramatic lighting.
I love this shoot and you’re right…black and white would be awesome. That first b&w print is great!
