Gaia and Gerald had a wonderful wedding in the woods at the Whispering Pines Conference Center, Rhode Island. Both artists, the bride and groom designed their own invitations and signage where each element within were plucked and made life-sized at the ceremony and reception. The overall theme: little kid’s birthday party! There were felt streamers, flags cut from fabric, a “kid parade” that preceded the bride’s procession, animal figurines painted in festive colors of blue, red, green and yellow, groomsmen’s ties and belts in these same colors, even macaroons in the same colors. Flowers on the tables and in the bride’s bouquet were plucked from mom’s garden. We took bride and groom portraits near the entrance of the center where the road was lined with tall, skinny pine trees. Though it was little more than a mile from the main reception area, it was totally worth the short drive and to get away for a few moments. The woods were quiet, romantic and fresh from the light rain that drizzled on and off (and later, very on) during the day. I loved everything about this festive wedding!
